J.R. Simplot – Accelerate automated

The food sector is probably the one where the greatest proportion of retailers and wholesalers are the best organized in terms of EDI (food service organizations included). Electronic exchanges have been part of their day-to-day activities for over 20 years. J.R. Simplot is no stranger to these notions. Their internal systems have been geared for years to capture purchase orders and send ASNs and invoices. A few years ago, Simplot started using InterTrade as a VAN for transport of traffic and to connect with the then-emerging AS2 protocol. Through discussions, they soon realized that InterTrade could help them take advantage of many other  solutions to deepen their use of trading-partner automation while reducing the cost of selling their product to their customers.
