Share Product Information with Retailers on the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) Using InterTrade's ecGDS Solution.

ecGDS is an efficient and affordable solution to synchronize data with retailers using Global Data Synchronization. ecGDS can help small, medium and large suppliers take advantage of this product attribute sharing technology and become preferred vendors to large retailers.

ecGDS enables the sharing of accurate and up-to-date data and information among trading partners. The Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) that ecGDS is connected to assures that data exchanged between trading partners is compliant with universally supported standards.

GDSN is an automated, standards-based, global distributed system of independent interoperable data pools certified by and connected to the GS1 Global Registry. It enables suppliers to efficiently automate the distribution of accurate, secure, and real-time Item Data to any buyer who subscribes to it.


How does it work?

  • Load Data – The seller loads item data into a Source Data Pool.
  • Register Data – The Source Data Pool registers key identification fields with the GS1 Global Registry
  • Subscription Request – A buyer sends out a subscription request to the seller, through their Recipient Data Pool, in order to initiate synchronization of item data.
  • Publish Data – The seller authorizes the data to be sent to the buyer, the Source Data Pool communicates the data to the buyer, through the Recipient Data Pool.
  • Recipient Confirmation – The buyer sends back a confirmation to the seller. Once this link has been established, any time changes are made to the data by the seller, the updated information is automatically sent on to the buyer until such time the seller ends the relationship.

Manual methods are error prone, resource intensive, repetitive and often result in inaccurate data that cause inefficiencies and additional costs on both sides of the supply chain. Data Synchronization is the process of collaborating with trading partners by sharing master item data.

By automating the dissemination of product data, Supply Side organizations (suppliers) are able to automatically send it to all demand partners. For Demand Side organizations (retailers/buyers), synchronization means that data is received from the myriad of suppliers, all in the same format, using the same methodology.
